ABOUT NEAL APONTE

Neal Aponte is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 30 years experience providing psychotherapy for children, adolescents and adults across the entire lifespan.  He has also provided coaching to adults negotiating a wide array of personal and professional challenges. And he has supervised psychiatrists, psychologists and clinical social workers providing adolescent and adult psychotherapy.

After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from Swarthmore College, Neal obtained a master’s degree in sociology from the University of California, Berkeley and a master’s degree and doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He completed his clinical training with a postdoctoral fellowship at the Cambridge Hospital, a teaching hospital of the Harvard Medical School system.

Using psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral and existential perspectives, Neal enables people to more clearly identify the various ways they inhibit and/or prevent themselves from experiencing more of the life they say they want. This empowers people to make more satisfying personal and/or professional life choices, allowing them to feel more alive.

Neal’s abiding interest in the relationship between psychological and spiritual growth and development resulted in his book “In The Shadows of Genesis”, an exciting new encounter with the mysterious heart of the remarkable stories of the Book of Genesis.  For those who are interested, here is a link to the book on Amazon:
